About Us

Great Lakes Agricultural Research Service, Inc. was established in 1987 by Susan K. Bellman. She has developed her company into one of the most preferred field research facilities in EPA Region V.

Susan was raised on the farm which is now GLARS. She has a M.S. degree in Weed Science and worked as a Research Representative for Monsanto, Rhone-Poulenc, and FMC Corporation prior to starting Great Lakes Ag-Research Service. Susan has a wealth of commercial crop farming, livestock farming, IPM, and field research experience.

330 acres, Angus beef cow herd, silt loam soil, irrigation, temperature monitored/ controlled storage facilities, GLP test substance handling, biotech testing capabilities, and more.

OFF-SITE LOCATIONS:
Muck soils, sandy loam soils, aerial applications, orchard crops, and more.

CROPS AVAILABLE:
Alfalfa, clover, snap beans, lima beans, peas, canola, field corn, sweet corn, soybeans, potatoes, sugar beets, carrots, cole crops, peppers, tomatoes, cucurbits, strawberries, sunflower, turf, celery, onions, mint, ginseng, orchard crops, raspberries, blueberries, and winter/spring cereals.
