Auditing Services are available for food safety audits of growers, harvest crews, and packing facilities through PrimusLabs.com.

In 2003, Sarah Schlicher became a third party affiliated auditor for PrimusLabs.com. PrimusLabs.com is a California based company that has developed a Food Safety Program in response to the FDA/USDA "Guidance for Industry - Guide to Minimize Microbial Food Safety Hazards for Fresh Fruit and Vegetables" (www.cfsan.fda.gov). The PrimusLabs.com Food Safety Program is set up such that produce suppliers (growers and packing facilities) are audited concerning Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety SOPs, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. The audit results are available to produce buyers (grocery and restaurant chains, etc.) through the PrimusLabs.com confidential database.

Audits are available for the following:

Farms/Ranches: examines the land and agricultural practices used to produce the commodity

Harvest Crews: examines employee safety, employee hygiene, and harvest practices

Packing Facilities: examines the physical conditions of the building and machinery, worker sanitation, and written documents regarding food safety policies
